JAMAA EL FNA

We were told to resist the temptation to buy anything until Tuesday in order to get the best deals possible, but temptation prevailed. The process to buy anything is long and requires much patience when bartering with the locals. It was understood that if you were a local Berber man the negotiation was easy but if you were white, like us, the negotiation was difficult and much more expensive. Once I saw something that I was interested in I would name a price and the negation would begin, but once the process was started it was unacceptable to walk away if the price was too high. I really dislike shopping, but when authentic Moroccan goods were shoved in my face and the exchange rate was in my favor it was hard to resist buying a few things. When we finally made it to Tuesday, the day we were supposed to go shopping, everyone had already spent all their money and bought everything they wanted. Oh well!

A long day of shopping was followed up with a nice evening in the Riad, enjoying the nice weather and some mint tea.
